New product feature: “Dartmouth”.

February 18, 2012

This one’s for all my BIG GREEN Brethren and is dedicated to Ivy League and fine vintage style fleece. It’s fabricated from real 3-end fleece from deadstock 90′s rolls and finished with vintage style “double V” at the neck (front & back). The colors are vintage cream with a tonal white print and ‘Dartmouthgreen with white print. It also features a nice subtle “LV” embroidery in Levi’s gold at the left side…Get them before they are gone. OK, everybody has done their version of ‘UNI’, but what separates this one from the rest is not only the quality, (your hands know the difference) but the typography as well. “Beethoven” — nuff said.

Homage to Haring.

January 13, 2012

I was lucky enough (although didn’t know it at the time) to meet Keith Haring in 1984. I was a young B-Boy at the time and we (Justice Crew) were performing at the NYC Swatch Watch Festival along with several other crews. A friend from Hip-Hop Int’l introduced us to Keith and said “he’s the most interesting writer I  know”. Since that day I’ve grown up and am a giant fan of his. Even though he seemed quite shy, he still felt like “one of us”.  My personal love and history of being part of the B-Boy era as well as the MMA & Grappling world led me to this conclusion: why not honor Kieth with a true tongue and cheek concept. I’m the first one to speak against ‘biting’ or ‘knocking’ something off – But this is one of the few exceptions I’ll make.  Somehow, I feel that if he were with us today he would get a kick out of this, if not already have done something to this effect, seeing how MMA and the UFC have penetrated pop-culture. “GABLE GRIP” is the first in the series – I have four or five more up my sleeve (wait til’ you see Rear Naked). Hope you enjoy them as much as I do. They’ll be on sale soon at the LUDWIG VAN shop, and 50% of all proceeds will be going to the RED HOT Organization to benefit AIDS research and treatment. – Peace.

Limited Production.

January 11, 2012

That’s just about all folks! – Getting near the last vestiges of recent LUDWIG VAN product. Here at LUDWIG VAN we focus on not just saying “limited edition” – but rather re-defining what it means. Most styles are cut from vintage fabrication yielding only 35-75pcs. per style. So next time you think about what your wearing, wouldn’t you want to own something that not every other tom-dick-and-harry is wearing? Once they’re gone, they’re gone! Check out the shop if you like anything – or don’t!
