In a nod to President Obama’s Samurai spirit on display during tonight’s state of the union address, I share with you a nugget from my personal collection of Marc Oldens “Black Samurai”. Ask these guys…it seems the big 5 Wall Street banks (largely responsible for getting us into the messy economy we are now experiencing) have posted record profits this quarter…is something wrong here? - or is it just me?

Sound alarmist? - well maybe. As an avid reader of the Ludwig von Mises Institute blog, I was looking thru some of the early entries posted by the always interesting Peter Schiff of EPC. Read for yourself, and see if what he was/is saying makes sense. To me, it appears to be fairly accurate, and I think people need to wake up, (that was for you Kevin). Read with caution and a clear mind, you might be surprised.

Today I received a phone call from a good friend concerning a previous blog post I did on Bernie Madoff -(see MADOFF ‘Made Off” with the cash…posted Dec 17th, 2008.) My friend expressed some concern that the posts photograph along with the words “off to the gas chamber” could be construed as offensive, insensitive and basically inflammatory to the Jewish community, all things considered. After speaking with him for a while I was moved to expand on the motivation behind that post, and to explain a bit more in depth about where I am coming from.

On that day I was so outraged by this story. This was indeed a despicable act perpetrated by a prominent man in the Jewish community on many of his own people. The only way I felt that I could press my view was to pull out all stops and really say what I felt. Now, for those of you who do not know me personally, I offer my sincere apology for any misunderstanding or insult that my have been gleaned from this post, I have supported many Jewish organizations over the years, and have many close personal friends in the Jewish community. For those of you who do know me personally you know very well that I do not mince words, I say what I mean, and mean what I say.

Simply put, I wanted to call attention to the ironic nature of this story. Madoff (being a Jewish man) took his own people (Jewish private citizens, and Jewish non-profit foundations) and sold them down the river, and for that I believe that an eye deserves an eye. The reference to the gas chamber was intentional. I could have easily used other forms of capitol punishment to illustrate my point, i.e. the electric chair, lethal injection, noose, etc. but that would not drive home the fact that we cannot stand by and watch these types of individuals who think they are out of the reach of justice do whatever they please with other people’s lively-hoods. period. There is not much more to say about this spectacle of greed. I guess you could say that this guy really takes the cake, literally. Off you go! My sincere feeling is that there should be capitol punishment for folks like these. At this time in our history/economy there is no need for people like these, and the natural selection process needs to be in effect.

I happened to catch some of JFK the other day, I guess my favorite Oliver Stone movie, but he hasn’t made anything worth watching in awhile. Anyway, the David Ferrie monologue that Pesci does is amazing. “It’s a mystery wrapped inside a riddle inside an enigma”. Ilove that line for some reason. Kennedy, it’s extremely dense and filled with some really interesting stuff. It can get boring at times, but if you like that kind of thing it is worth the read.

I hope everyone went out to the polls today. I had to do the whole absentee ballot thing cause I’m not a Cali resident, but still tagged along with the boys in the office because in typical Ludwig fashion we managed to turn our civic duty into a leisurely event by skating there! Who says voting can’t be fun?

Just reading some of the latest news on the poles, listening to some classic cuts, and i came across this photo of Bush and his bitch McCain, and then McCain and his bitch Palin…not to mention the lyrics match to a tee…”Totin guns just as long as me, the bitch belongs with me” ( B.I.G. ) or is it the other way around? because McCain could very well be Palin’s bitch. And then of course you have Joe, (he’s definitely the bitch in the relationship)
